How should I prepare my collection of camera trap images/videos for submission?

WildObs supports the Camtrap DP (Camera Trap Data Package) standard ↗

This structure links each media file to its corresponding metadata (e.g. species identification,

timestamp, location) in a tidy, consistent way, perfect for analysis or sharing.

What you need to do:

  • Organise your images/videos. Usually in folders representing deployments, observations, and
  • media. Follow the column structure for CamtrapDP Format Requirements ↗.
  • Ensure images are linked to spreadsheet data using unique identifiers or filenames.
  • Complete this survey ↗ to provide the required metadata for your submission.
  • The following will display an example of each:
    • Deployments.csv
    • Observations.csv
    • Media.csv
